Construction and trades

AI that carries the field update into the office and the invoice.

Entoura engineers AI for contractors, trades and field-service teams across Vancouver Island. It reads the photo, note and form from the job site, structures it, and moves it into project, scheduling and accounting records, inside a system built around how your company actually operates.

Where the work catches

Recognizable problems, not a generic platform.

Construction companies and field-service operators have different work rhythms. Both need current information to survive the handoff between a site, the office and the financial record.

01

Project information is split across email, drives, spreadsheets and specialist software.

02

Change and approval processes are difficult to track.

03

Field updates reach the office late.

04

Executive and job reporting is assembled manually.

05

Dispatch and schedule changes are handled by phone.

06

Photos, notes and forms require office re-entry.

07

Estimates, work orders and invoices are disconnected.

08

Service and project history depends on staff memory.

Two operating contexts

Built around the actual operation.

01 · Construction companies and project teams

Move project information through a controlled operating layer.

What breaks

  • Change and approval processes difficult to track
  • Field updates reaching the office late
  • Historical project information difficult to reuse
  • Accounting and project systems not synchronized

What we could engineer

  • Field reporting and approval routing
  • Project health dashboards
  • Historical costing and project knowledge
  • Deficiency and closeout workflows
02 · Trades and field-service operators

Connect dispatch, the job site and the invoice.

What breaks

  • Schedule changes handled by phone
  • Site information unavailable to technicians
  • Photos and forms require office re-entry
  • Customers repeatedly call for status

What we could engineer

  • Dispatch and mobile work orders
  • Field forms, photos and documentation
  • Estimate-to-job handoff
  • Service history and accounting integration

One system, clear roles

Each person sees the work they own.

Owner or executive

  • See project and operational health
  • Identify margin and schedule risks
  • Compare work across jobs

Project manager or dispatcher

  • Manage approvals and exceptions
  • See current field activity
  • Coordinate resources

Field team

  • Receive current job information
  • Submit structured updates from mobile
  • Avoid duplicate paperwork

For growth-stage and multi-crew operations

A 4–8 week pilot on one workflow, built on your own project data.

If you run multiple crews or projects and the office can no longer hold it all in spreadsheets, we start with one operations-exception or intelligence-layer workflow, field-to-office reporting or project-health signals, built on your own job records and measured against a bar you set before we begin. The single-crew version of this still reads the photo and the form; this is the version sized for a company with several jobs running at once.

  • One workflow, scoped to a defined success bar
  • Built on your own project and costing data, not a generic model
  • Human-reviewed AI with a full audit trail across crews

This reference workflow shows a mobile field update moving into an approval and system-of-record handoff. It is not an existing customer deployment.

Integration, not upheaval

Specialist platforms stay where they fit.

Established construction, field-service, accounting and scheduling products handle many standard requirements well. The AI we engineer reads the field update and moves it across those products when information must cross systems or follow company-specific rules. It writes back into the records you already keep.

BUILD / BUY

Use proven construction software where it fits.

Entoura does not rebuild commodity features already handled well by established platforms. Custom work belongs where workflows span products, depend on proprietary business logic or require ownership and integration.

How the Blueprint makes the call

Performance Engineering

Find. Engineer. Validate. Improve.

Entoura is an AI Engineering Firm, the firm you hire when you want your business to operate better. Software, automation, data, and AI are the tools we use to engineer that outcome.

P·01 Find

Find where time and money leave the building

It looks at how your operation actually runs and locates where time and money leave the building. The output is a ranked list of what it costs you, not a pitch.

P·02 Diagnose

Size each opportunity and name what matters first

Each opportunity is sized, and the single one worth changing first is named. This is the Assessment, and it is free.

P·03 Engineer

Build the intelligence that changes how the work gets done

The intelligence that changes how the work gets done is engineered around your operation. It runs inside the systems your team and customers already use, not in a tool beside them.

P·04 Improve

Stay on and keep the system doing its job

Models change, systems change, your business changes. Staying on keeps the system doing its job as all three move.

The first engagement

Start with a Blueprint™.

The Blueprint maps one workflow, inspects the systems it touches, and produces a development-ready specification with a fixed build quote. You keep the deliverables either way.

Control and ownership

Your operation stays accountable.

Field and project access is scoped by role. Approval, activity history, hosting and system connections are documented before implementation.

Role-based access for office, project, dispatch and field teams

Human approval for cost, schedule and commitment decisions

Activity history for updates, exceptions, approvals and synchronization

Mobile access designed for the required field conditions

Client-controlled repositories, accounts and project data

Canadian hosting where the selected architecture supports it

Read the site security posture

Example outcomes · no invented figures

Less chasing. More visible work.

Field updates arrive in a structured project record without office re-entry.

Approvers see the update, supporting photos and the identified impact together.

Owners review current job and operational information across projects.

Customers and stakeholders receive status from a defined source instead of a phone chain.

Article Why project information breaks between the site and the office

Vancouver Island

Based in Comox. Close enough to visit.

Entoura.Studio is based in Comox. For construction and trades operators on Vancouver Island, the first step can happen in the room, observing the handoff before anything is specified.

Questions before a call

What this is, and what it is not.

Do you work with contractors on Vancouver Island?

Yes. Entoura.Studio is based in Comox and works with contractors, trades and field-service teams across the Island. Site visits are practical when the handoff between field and office needs to be observed before it is specified.

Does Entoura replace our construction-management platform?

Commodity project-management features belong in proven products, so replacement is rarely the goal. The work focuses on proprietary workflows, integrations and operating views that the current stack does not cover.

Can this connect field and accounting systems?

Potentially. The Blueprint verifies APIs, exports, permissions and data ownership before committing to the connection.

Can field teams use it on mobile devices?

Yes. The workflow can be designed for phones or tablets, including the connectivity and input constraints found on actual job sites.

Can approvals remain human-controlled?

Yes. Cost, schedule, commitment and safety-related decisions can be routed to named people before any downstream system is updated.

Can it work with project documents?

Yes, where access and document quality permit. Search, classification and extraction can support staff, with citations and human review defined for the use case.

Where is project data hosted?

The Blueprint documents the hosting region, external services and what data each receives. Canadian hosting is used where the selected architecture supports it.

What does the contractor own?

The contractor controls the application repository, accounts, infrastructure and data defined in the engagement.

How is the first workflow selected?

The Blueprint traces a repeated handoff, quantifies its operational cost where evidence exists and chooses the smallest useful workflow that crosses the current gap.

Can we just give everyone a ChatGPT or Claude subscription?

For individual drafting, summarizing, and learning, yes, and you should. A subscription is a general-purpose tool a person opens and prompts. It has no standing connection to your systems, no memory of how your business runs, and it only acts when someone drives it. That is a productivity tool for a person, not an AI system for a business. When you need AI embedded in a workflow, governed, and reliable enough to depend on, you have outgrown the subscription.

When does API-based AI make more sense than consumer apps?

When the work needs to run inside your software, not at a keyboard. APIs let you embed models in the tools you already use, choose the model per task (Claude, GPT-class, Gemini, or open-source), set data-retention terms in writing, and pay per token at volume instead of stacking $20–100/month seats across a team. That is the path from "everyone has a login" to a system the business runs on. The Blueprint defines whether you are there yet.
