How we work
AI demos are everywhere. Production AI is building it right.
A model call is the easy part. The engineering is everything around it: the data architecture, the retrieval that grounds it, the schemas that constrain it, the evaluation that proves it works, and the fallbacks that catch it when it is wrong.
Entoura is a circle of some of the most capable people we know: developers, designers, and product minds. When someone brings an idea worth shipping, we assemble the team, then design, test, implement, automate, and build it until it runs in pressure-tested production.
The build spans the AI (extraction pipelines, retrieval systems, structured outputs, workflow intelligence) and the software it runs inside: iOS, Android, web, and internal tools. Documents parsed without re-keying. Answers pulled from your own files in seconds, with citations to the source line. Follow-ups on schedule, not on memory. One integrated system, with AI engineered in, not chatbots pasted onto the side.

Background
Engineering the systems a business runs on, since 2014.
It starts in 2014, in the family furniture business. The job was whatever the business needed: the software, the computers it ran on, and eventually custom APIs carrying live inventory across more than 100,000 SKUs, from the manufacturers building the furniture to the retailers selling it. Getting that wrong has a very specific consequence. Someone buys a sofa that is not in the warehouse, and then someone has to phone them.
University was finance, and the finance was algorithmic: valuation models, trading signal, portfolio risk. Same underlying job as the warehouse. A number has to hold up, because somebody is about to act on it.
The platforms came next, built and run firsthand, years before Entoura existed as a name. Furniture e-commerce. Cross-country logistics, moving sofas from Vancouver to Toronto in three days through a chain of 3PL partners. Development approvals. Events technology. Several of them carried the whole way, from the first line of code to the part where a customer calls at nine on a Friday. That is the difference between building automation and advising on it. When it breaks, it breaks on you.
The formal training came later, in specialized technology programs, with mentorship from senior people at LinkedIn, Mastercard, Amazon, the New York Post, and CitiFinancial. The practice was already running. What changed was the standard it got measured against.
AI is the same job with a worse failure mode. Every system before it could be checked against something physical. The pallet was on the floor or it was not. A model hands you an answer in the same tone whether the answer is right or invented, so the checking has to be engineered in rather than left for an operator to catch. That is most of the work. Confidence is easy. Accuracy is the work.
Most of that was written in Python, which is also what the AI field runs on, so the move into AI engineering was a shorter jump than it sounds. The certification followed: Certified AI Engineer for Developers Associate, DataCamp, June 2026. The longer credential is harder to put on a certificate. Counted across the family and the people around it, something past seventy years of working life in this trade sits behind the way these systems get built.
Today the same work continues for retail, manufacturing, and distribution companies across Canada.
